Pattern: With Larger Hook and A
Rnd 1: Ch 2. 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join to first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in same st and in each st around. Join.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st. *2sc in next st, sc in next st. Rep from * around to last st. 2 sc in last st. Join.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same st and next st. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts. Rep from * around to last st. 2 sc in last st. Join.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in same st and next 2 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts. Rep from * around to last st. 2 sc in last st. Join.
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in same st and next 3 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts. Rep from * around to last st. 2 sc in last st. Join.
Rnd 7: Ch 1, sc in same st and next 4 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts. Rep from * around to last st. 2 sc in last st. Join.
Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in same st and next 2 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts. Rep from * around to last st. 2 sc in last st. Join.

Rnd 10: Ch 1, sc in same st and each st around. Join.
Rnds 11-12: Rep rnd 10.
Rnd 13: Ch 1, sc in same st and next 2 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts. Rep from * around to last 4 sts. 2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in last sc. Join.
Rnds 14-15: Rep rnd 10. At end of rnd 15, join to BL of first sc.
Rnd 16: Working in BLO, ch 1, sc in same st and each st around. Join in both lps of first st.
Rnds 17-20: Rep rnd 10.
Rnd 21: Ch 2, hdc in next st and each st to last sc. 2 sc in last st. Join in top of beg ch-2.
Rnd 22: Ch 2, hdc in next st. (Hdc in Hlp of next 4 sts, hdc in next 4 sts) around to last 6 sts. Hdc in Hlp of next 4 sts, hdc in last 2 sts. Join in top of beg ch-2.
Rnd 23: Ch 2 (does NOT count as first st). Fpdc around ch-2 two rnds down. Fpdc around next hdc two rnds below. (Hdc in Hlp of next 4 sts on last rnd, fpdc around next 4 sts two rnds below) around to last 6 sts. Hdc in Hlp of next 4 sts on last rnd, fpdc around last 2 sts two rnds below. Join to first fpdc.
Rnd 24: Ch 2 (does NOT count as first st). Fpdc around each fpdc and hdc in Hlp of each hdc around. Join to first fpdc, changing to B.
Rnd 25: Ch 2, hdc in each st around. Join in back ridge of 2nd ch in beg ch-2.
Rnd 26: Ch 2, hdc in Hlp of each hdc around. Join in back ridge of 2nd ch in beg ch-2.
Rnds 27-29: Rep rnd 26, changing to A at end of rnd 29.
Rnd 30: Rep rnd 26, except join to top of beg ch-2.
Rnds 31-33: Rep rnds 22-24. Turn at end of rnd 33.
Rnds 34-36: Rep rnds 25-27, changing to A at end of rnd 36.
Rnd 37: Turn. Ch 2. Working in Hlp and FL, hdc in next st and each st around. Join in top of beg ch-2.
Rnds 38-40: Rep rnds 22-24. Do NOT change colors.
Rnd 41: Ch 2, hdc in each st around. Join in top of beg ch-2.
Rnd 42: Ch 2, hdc in Hlp of next st, (fpdc around next 4 sts two rnds below, hdc in Hlp of next 4 sts on last rnd) around to last 6 sts. Fpdc around next 4 sts two rnds below, hdc in Hlp of last 2 sts. Join in back ridge of 2nd ch in beg ch-2.
Rnd 43: Ch 2, hdc in Hlp of next st, (fpdc around each of next fpdc, hdc in Hlp of next 4 sts) around to last 6 sts. Fpdc around each of next 4 fpdc, hdc in Hlp of last 2 hdc. Join in top of beg ch-2, changing to B.
Rnds 44-48: Rep rnds 25-29. Finish off.

Begin working in Rows and with smaller hook.
First Handle Flap: Join B with a sc in Hlp and BL of 7th st to the right of joining.

Row 1: Sc in Hlp and BL of next 14 sts. Turn.
Rows 2-8: Ch 1, sc in each sc. Turn.

Join Handle: Fold flap over handle and sl st securely through row 8 of flap and corresponding sts on row 1 of flap. Finish off.

Second Handle Flap: Sk 37 sts to left of first Handle Flap. Join B with a sc in Hlp and BL of next st.

Work rows 1-8 and handle joining as for first flap.

Weave in all loose ends on tote.

Bow: Using smaller hook and B, ch 13.
Row 1: Working in back ridges of ch, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 2-6: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. At end of row 6, do not ch 1; do not turn. Finish off. Weave in ends.

Knot: Using smaller hook and B, ch 8.
Row 1: Working in back ridges of ch, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, do not turn. Do NOT finish off.

Wrap long side of knot around center of bow, gathering bow tightly. Sl st ends of knot and gathered edges of bow (2 sts on each side) together. Ch 1. Leaving long
tail for sewing, finish off.

Sew assembled bow to center ribbon row, centered beneath 2nd handle joined. (See Fig. A for accurate placement.) Weave in joining end.

Tack corners of bow down if desired.

Top Trim: Using smaller hook and B, join with a sl st in FL of joining ch. Ch 1. Working in FL under handles and both lps between handles, rsc in each st around. Join in first rsc. Finish off.

Bottom Trim: Using smaller hook and B, join with a sl st in any unused lp from bottom of tote. Ch 1, rsc in each st around. Join in first rsc. Finish off.
