We got our youngest boy a rather large gift that required two full sheets of wrapping paper–uncut–to cover it. For the bow, I wanted something different and out of the norm. My solution? A candy bow made from Smarties rolled candies.

The occasion? Delbert is turning 6 tomorrow! I’ll have pics of his soccer ball cake later.
It was mentioned to me that the scrunchies I make would look great in school colors. I took the idea and ran with it, making two versions of our school color scrunchies. Now, the question is who would be the most likely candidates to wear them? The answer: Cheerleaders and female athletes!
So, I am offering packages to cheerleading squads and sports teams for my crocheted scrunchies. Send me an e-mail to orders[at]catscradlecreations[dot]com with the following information:
- School Colors
- Number of Variations (Home/Away colors would be reversed)
- Quantity Needed of each Color Combo
I’ll return your e-mail with a quote and we can proceed from there.
All School Spirit Scrunchies are made with 100% acrylic yarn crocheted over a large/thick hair metal-free Goody brand black ponytail holder.
These still need a couple of finishing touches, but this is what I’m working on right now: translucent blue pearl glitter-embossed tree ornaments. Say that 3 times fast! These look best when displayed directly in front of a light, as you can see the difference in the photos.

We sat down and covered the table with brown kraft paper last night and played with polymer clay with the kids for about an hour and a half. Wow! Who knew it could take that long just to put the pieces together…
Anyway, Trey finished a piece he had started 3 weeks ago before we left for my mom’s. It’s a green and orange dragon with fire coming out of its mouth:

Del made a snail squad for Delbert after he created the wire armature for a couple of beefy “skeletons”.

L-R: Sluggo–a snail wannabe slug wearing a rock, Rambo–his shell has been shot to hell, CySnail–a cycloptic snail with one eye, and Indiana Shell–the leader of the Snail Squad who thinks he’s Indiana Jones.
Sami wanted a mummy–she’s been watching a lot of Scooby-Doo lately–and was running around with her arms over her head and groaning. It was really funny! So, I made the armature from 12.5 gauge fencing wire and wrapped the mummy with her pink sculpey. He has a glow-in-the-dark skull and blue eyes. Also shown is the shelf-sitter baby dragon I made for her 3 weeks ago.
