A big thanks to my hubby Del who helped tremendously with the photography session. I set up the pieces; he took the pictures with his new toy. :)

Lava Jewelry’s Spring Beading Challenge
Filing: Uncategorized — CatsCradleCreations @ 8:46 pm

Since I’ve been making jewelry a LOT lately, I decided to join in the fun and get involved in a beading challenge. Each participant buys the same bead set–or more than one–and makes some fun spring jewelry from it. I bought two so I could create more pieces. One category, “Only the Beads,” only allows one bead set–full or partial–so I pulled several beads and components from one set and added them to the other. I have one set of jewelry for this bead set and two more sets under the “Anything Goes” category. These pieces use beads from both sets and findings that aren’t allowed in the “Only the Beads” category.

For more information regarding the Spring 2008 Beading Challenge, visit Lava Jewelry’s Spring Beading Challenge page. She has the whole thing outlined and a list of who’s participating. I’m listed as “catscradle,” as the list uses Etsy names.

I decided to work three sets of spring jewelry pieces with the two sets of beads I purchased. Del and I are planning a photo shoot for all my new pieces and I’ll post new listings in my Etsy shop later this week. Until then, you’ll just have to wait to see the spring line I’ve put together. Once they’re gone, that’s it. I don’t have any more of the challenge beads.

I must say that Lava Jewelry did a wonderful job putting together this challenge. I had a blast creating and crafting my jewelry pieces. :)

I Feel Lost
Filing: Uncategorized — CatsCradleCreations @ 8:13 pm

A friend of mine just recently lost her husband to pneumonia. I wish I could be there with her, but she lives 1000+ miles away. I just feel so lost right now and at a loss for words. I’ve let her know that she can call me anytime she needs to talk and I’ll listen. I know time is going to play a big factor into her healing, but she also has a strong network of friends she can lean on during her healing.

Her husband was a devoted fire fighter and served our country. He came home from Iraq just before he died. Please remember this family in your thoughts and prayers. They need strength from friends and healing thoughts from anyone who cares to send them.

I’m not disclosing any names on this matter.

Knots Are Fun!
Filing: Uncategorized — CatsCradleCreations @ 2:09 pm

I recently bought a sweet little necklace for my daughter from Marcela, a jewelry artist and Etsy seller. Marcela creates jewelry with knots that are so much fun!

She was recently interviewed by another Etsy seller, Merkaba Jewelry, at Merkaba’s Musings. (And if you need beads or supplies, check out

Telemarketers Beware!
Filing: Uncategorized — CatsCradleCreations @ 9:55 am

Yesterday I received a call from a man identifying himself as “Charles.” I didn’t recognize the phone number, so I’m not sure why I even bothered to answer the phone. When he started talking, he told me he had gotten my number because I had signed up for more information about how to generate money from home. I told him I didn’t remember doing so. He proceeded to give me a website address, but didn’t tell me how to spell it and just said I needed to scroll down because the information was on the left and down a bit.

I typed in what it sounded like and got “this domain is for sale” at least twice. Just goes to show that there was something going on that wasn’t quite right.

When I tried to ask how to spell out the URL, Del asked what the call was about. I was trying to explain it when he took the phone and said, “Who are you and what do you want?” I assume “Charles” didn’t answer because Del repeated himself louder and more menacingly. Later, Del said “Charles” told him to have a good day and hung up the phone.

So, if you’re a telemarketer with the intention of trying to scam me or my family, in the words of The 10th Doctor, we are defended. I have my own personal guard against annoying and scamming telephone calls: my computer Doctor hubby!

Etsy Treasury Lists ~ Expired
Filing: Uncategorized — CatsCradleCreations @ 8:07 pm

I finally stalked the Treasury page at Etsy long enough to get a list posted. I was so stoked! Of course, even though my own wares are bead and button based, I chose fiber. Yarns, rovings, and even a smiling camel!

So, please stop by and see the Yummy Yarns. Hurry! This list expires Sunday evening!

I have a featured item in this one! It’s my Jaded Tiger Pendant. W00t! Of course, since it’s a “Buy and Replace” that means I had to buy something off the list first, but I’m in there. :)

BNR 5 = Come On In!

Update: April 16

I sold an item from the BNR, though it was the BNR 6. I wasn’t bought out from #5, so the curator carried me over to #6, where I sold a set of stitch markers. :)

Treasuries are fun! If you get a chance, head over to Etsy and check out some of the wonderful sellers who are showcased in the various treasuries!
