So, since the last time I blogged, there have been a few happenings. My birthday came and went on the 16th. I’m now officially pushing 30–yep, turned 29 this year. On St. Patty’s Day, I wore my newest FO while we traveled. Spent some time in the cold figuring out where to build our house if hubby gets the job he interviewed for. Ah, life. Gotta love it–sometimes. Did I mention that I’m off the Zoloft and on Effexor? The new happy pill is MUCH better!

First, I learned today that I don’t like margaritas. Who’d've thunk it? I made some Cuervo Margaritas using Jose Cuervo Premium Tequila and the Cuervo mix and didn’t like it–with or without salt. Am I wierd? I don’t know. I like other mixed drinks–daquiris, fuzzy navels, buttery nipples–but apparently margaritas aren’t up there on my ‘like it’ list.
I also learned that I can still get the yarn for my Wrapped In Ribbons tote from Herrschners. It’s “Carta” by Lana Grossa in color 5 (purple/green) and so I added 50 balls to my wish list. I also added the other colors. I will continue to use the Nashua as the accent yarn as I love the way it works up and the way it feels in my hands as I work it. Plus, if I make enough purses, I’ll have a killer felting stash to work with!
Now, I just need to get busy writing another pattern….

I’ve finally finished the tote pattern I was working on!! I can’t post it to my patterns site, though, because it’s been submitted for publication to ‘Round the ‘Ville, the newsletter associated with Crochetville. Stop by and have a look at the March issue while it’s still up! There are great patterns and articles to read through as well as some really good yarn and book reviews. The next issue comes out April 1, so watch for new articles, new reviews, and new patterns.
Here’s a peek at my new tote, Wrapped In Ribbons (named by my 3 year old son):

Okay, people. I’ve about had enough of others’ hate propaganda. I’m a US Army veteran and a Christian and am seriously apalled at the way some so-called Christians behave. I really can’t get into all the details, so I’ll give you a couple of links where you can read the story and the issues. Please leave on a comment on Kate’s blog if you can help support this letter-writing campaign.
Protesters should NOT be allowed at funerals. I don’t care what color your skin is, what religion you do or don’t practice, what your sexual preference is, or what you’ve chosen as a profession. Keep the protesters away from funerals!!!
Thanks to Indiana’s Gov. Daniels, protesters are no longer allowed near funerals, allowing the families to grieve in peace and support one another. Thank you, Gov. Daniels, for signing this law and protecting grieving families.
