The Bad News
I can’t find my size G TOTC hook!!! I had it this morning and this afternoon, but tonight when I was actually going to use it, I couldn’t find it. I’m not happy about it. I’m really hoping I don’t sit down and hear *crack* any time–ever. I went ahead and ordered another one from Bill, along with a set of knitting needles, but I’m still upset about my hook running off.

I was visiting Beth’s blog and found these little Blog activities. One is very insightful, the other was, um, a little, shall we say, “interesting”.

Um, yeah:

Yep. I said a couple. One is knit, one crochet. One is a scarf, one is a bag. Stay tuned for more information and a link to the patterns.

Oh, yeah. I figured out how to purl. I’m rocking with the knitting needles now!!

Knitting
I’ve been trying to learn knitting off and on for over a year now, with little success. Now, I can proudly say that I have figured it out! I’m currently working on a jumper for Sami in Bernat Softee Baby “Her Jeans Ombre” and it’s looking really good. I’ve found that I’m much faster and more comfortable using the continental style. I’ve come across the following snags, though:

• didn’t have the right size circular needles (Michaels solved that)
• lost count casting on 240 sts (finally used stitch markers)
• twisted the cast-on row when joining (found this out at rnd 10)
• still need to figure out how to purl (was twisting the stitches–knitting continental and trying to use the traditional method for purl stitch doesn’t work)
